I'm an incredibly lucky person.

I am the position of deciding when I work, where I work, and how much work I do in a day. Still, I sometimes have to check in my work/life balance - because I LOVE what I do so much, it can often take over my day and week!

Here are some ideas if you find your balance is a little out of control too quickly check-in and adjust it.

Whether you work in a corporate environment, in a high physical environment, or even from your own home environment like me, we all have to try and maintain a positive work/life balance. It's essential for leading a healthy and productive life. How?

By maintaining balance you could:

- Improve your health and wellness
- Be more productive
- Actually, enjoy your work
- Ensure you have time for self-care
- Stop feeling like you are 'missing out'.

There are many different 'tools' and methods you can use to achieve a positive work\life balance, and I take you through many of them in my workshop - Women's Wellness and Self Care.

However, here are 3 ways that you could start today!

1. TIME MANAGEMENT

We all have the same amount of time every single day. Yes, we all have different responsibilities that take up elements of our time, however, when it all comes down to it, it is how we choose to manage our time that counts.

So, look at things like time chunking your calendar - if you don't have one maybe start with implementing a calendar! Time chunking simply means breaking down your week - or even your day if you find yourself getting lost in social media for hours on end - to make every minute count.

Not only do you include work tasks, but also include things like exercise, lunch, free time. I've had many people message me after attending one of my workshops saying they implemented time chunking and it made a huge difference!

2. REFRESH YOUR TRIBE

Jim Rohn said 'You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with'. Oh yes, you are! Write down now the names of the 5 people you spend the most time with, then write a characteristic that best describes them.

Then sit back and take a look. Do you have mainly negative people? People who are constantly seeing the worst in life, gossiping about other people, leaving you feeling drained? - or - are they mainly positive, upbeat, overcoming challenges, leaving you with a feeling of increase every time you are with them?

If you find your tribe is mainly negative, that is rubbing off on you! It doesn't mean you need to completely wipe them from your life, it means you are shifting them into a different friendship 'circle' for a while, leaving room for those amazing positive people to spend the majority of time with you.

3. NOTIFICATIONS BE GONE!

Think about this - is your day dictated by the pings, dings, buzzes, bleeps and vibrations that your phone gives you? Do you pick it up first thing in the morning and let what is happening in the world of social media dictate how your day will even begin?

Then take the time to ditch the notifications! Yes! you won't believe how much focus - and extra time - your day will include when you turn off notifications for everything non-urgent!

Don't continue to be reactive to your phone - by turning off notifications you'll be proactive - choose when you pick up the phone to check things like social media!

You can keep the urgent notifications obviously, you are the one choosing what to react to and what not to, however by turning off the majority you will be back in control of your time!

Oh and the biggest tip of all - ditch all devices during meal times and family time. Your family will love you for it.

There are 3 ways you can start re-balancing your life. I encourage you to come along next time I hold one of my workshops to see the rest!

PS: As always, I absolutely love having essential oils diffusing around me, so at the end of every blog, I like to leave you with a recipe relating to the subject.     Enjoy this special blend!

PS: Please note I only use and recommend Young Living Essential Oils.   If you are just starting out and don't understand the difference yet, don't worry, I was there too until 11 years when ago I started researching.  I always thought all essential oils were the same, and it was such a wormhole of information! Because I like to make life easier for everyone, I created a Facebook group with all the basic information I found.   This group will make your research so much easier.   Click here if you would like access :)
