4-step Weekend Wellness Challenge
4-step Weekend Wellness Challenge!

This weekend in my community I gave a challenge out that was super simple yet will give us busy women a huge sense of achievement - without impacting our weekend!  Here it is so you can challenge yourself any time you wish!

All you need to do is follow the 4 steps in the graphic below, and I have a little more about each step further in this blog.

Why do we need to challenge ourselves?  Because we all need the beautiful feelings that come with a sense of achievement.   Our lives can be so busy and our minds so full, that the feelings surrounding achievement are hardly felt.  Small challenges that can contribute to this AND to our wellness and self-care are important.

What if you don't achieve it?  This is the best part - it gives you the opportunity to reflect on why this is, what needs to be changed to accommodate 4 easy self-care activities into your weekend, and a glimpse into the fact that you aren't giving yourself enough time to breathe and slow down.

Here are the steps!

1. Take a 20-30 minute walk outside: Just find 20-30 minutes one day this weekend (or two if you really want to challenge yourself) and walk. Don't overthink it, just pop on comfy shoes and walk around your neighbourhood. Easy! 👍

2. Take a break from social media: find a time period of the weekend where you can just put it all away. Computers, ipads, phones etc....anywhere you usually access your social media and just ignore it. The time period is up to you, however I suggest a minimum 1 hour 😉 😀

3. Write down your strengths: this is a great one to do when you are ignoring your social media! Grab a piece of paper and a pen and start by writing the numbers 1 to 3. Complete those lines by writing down 3 of your strengths. Then add the numbers 4 to 6. Write in more of your strengths....continue this and see how many you can write down! For some, this may feel tricky and uncomfortable as you have to really break through some barriers in finding the good in yourself if you constantly have a negative narrative running - but I know you can find them! ✔️

4. Practice mindful breathing: Sit and take some time to sit and really just focus on your breath. In and out, in and out. If you know how to do box breathing do that. If you need help grab the 'Calm' app (my favourite) and find the short breathing technique meditations. 🧘‍♀️

That's it!
